Responsible for providing professional legal advice and efficient legal services to CLIENT projects and operations, with the objective of protecting legal and commercial interests of the Company as well as the Company’s business needs.

Job Description

• Responsible in identifying Company’s legal and commercial exposure in all Company’s undertakings in CLIENT Project.
• Plan, propose, and execute in implementing strategies to manage the identified Company’s legal exposure and risk.
• Review, draft, finalize and provide legal advice on operational agreements and other agreements including commercial agreements.
• Review and advise on all legal documentation and procedures involved in CLIENT projects and operations.
• Responsible for advising, giving opinion and assistance including but not limited on  Human Resources and Admin issues, HSE matters etc, in the area of activities and operations and also issues relating to Government compliance.
• Provide operational role in pursuing and defining third party claims for the area and in managing arbitration proceedings, coordinating between the partners, external lawyers and claimants.
• Provide legal operational role on day-to day operations for all areas concerned and also to assist in the Company Secretarial matters.

Qualifications & Skills

• Possess a Recognised LL.B, at least Second Class Honours
• Minimum of 6 years post qualifying experience, preferably in the oil and gas industry; either in a major legal practice or an established commercial organisation
• Possess experience in corporate and commercial matters including preparation/drafting of legal documentation connected with such work.  Will also consider private practice litigation lawyers with substantive experience related to such work.
