SENIOR RESERVOIR ENGINEER

Reference number: AE/SRVE-PE/604

Commencement of work: July / August 2014
Duration: 1 year+ 1 year extension Option
The position requires experience in classical reservoir engineering methods, economics, reservoir fluid characterization, uncertainty analysis, reservoir simulation and reserves evaluation.

Job Description

  • Take an active role in preparing field development plans and updates, including documentation and presentation of those plans to CLIENT management as appropriate.
  • Provide recommendations for data gathering during development drilling.
  • Understand current SEC reserves guidelines and participate in the annual reserves process, including allocating current and future volumes. Participate in internal and external reserve audits.
  • Participate at a team member in technical assurance reviews.
  • Ensure high quality standards for managing reservoir engineering data and field models, ensuring consistency with local and global CLIENT guidelines.
  • Run Eclipse reservoir models to assist with field development planning, reservoir management, and preparation of long term production forecasts.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor of Science / Engineering degree in Petroleum or Reservoir Engineering / SPM/Equivalent
  • Experience with engineering software especially Eclipse but also ENABLE, Petroleum Experts Suite, Kappa Suite and OFM), Monte Carlo software (Crystal Ball, @RISK) and MS Office Suite. Experience with economic software (e.g. PEEP) a plus
  • Minimum  5 years of reservoir engineering experience particularly in simulation.
  • Strong reservoir engineering skills, sufficient to deliver input to subsurface (simulation and other) models that adequately characterize the reservoir and fluids, define the reserves distribution accurately and enable the generation of robust field development plans
  • Experience in field development planning and economic evaluation and ability to identify and optimize the key E&P business drivers for a particular project
  • Positive attitude and proactive team worker. Capable of problem solving and always looking for efficient operational solutions
  • Self-starter, able to work independently and collaborate fully as part of a multi-disciplined team. Able to work to tight deadlines and effective at multi-tasking
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, confident representing opinions at technical and operational meetings involving CLIENT management, peers, PETRONAS or PCSB
  • Place of Work : Office based, Kuala Lumpur
